Everlasting Words ...

It’s the survival of “Lyricist” ; the style may be appalling or endearing. If one struggles with words they more oft than not fade away into their own oblivion. The players make their melodies and extract the juices inflicting wounds along the way, the pain of the silent crusader doesn’t stop them. They play as only they best can till the web they cast traps them and then the silence deafens them.

Time can heal wounds but words once said can’t be taken back, so glad that the triple talaaq bill has been passed. There was nothing more barbaric and regressive than that. A monologue is only appreciated in theatre when out of free will one has gone to hear a profound recitation. The essence of healthy relationships is an open dialogue.

The casanova has aced his word game yet games like scrabble are far from his thing. The shy recluse may only have words to take someone’s heart away if only he gets a listen.

Listening if practised paves the path for better oration , if you listen intently then you don’t have to voracious vocabulary to make an impression. Simple words conveyed with clarity, said at the right time outweigh any  sesquipedalian.

We all have at some point of time marvelled at a simple statement said and wondered why we didn’t think of it. A healthy mind is never absent it’s unburdened by expectations, a prerequisite for being witty and sincere.

The choice of words used to convey an emotion plays a huge role in it’s impact. A case in point ;”Can’t you just shut the !@#$ up and leave me alone” as against “may I request you to allow me some time with my thoughts, thank you for understanding”. We all have fallen prey to being caught in the heat of the moment, do take one to assess the effectiveness and time and energy saved even if it’s in retrospect.

Words don’t have to be inscribed in stone to be eternal , they echo endlessly. Some form great memories and are narrated down the generations almost like fairy tales, others are tools waiting for an opportune moment to be used by the bearer.

Choose carefully coz the first impression of looking good comes crashing down if your tongue has not learnt the art of the maestro. One must learn soon enough ,as the baton the tongue plays the vocal chords ; make a blend that is harmonious.

Thus far we touched upon the use of words orally but I have found that words between the parched paper have touched me like none else. It is in the world of books much before one is corrupted and robbed of innocence , we create our own magical world. The words ignite our imagination and allow us to paint a vivid picture that is unique to us. There is much joy when our vision is shared by those close to us but we don’t loose heart if they can’t see what we do. It is scared and it us ours.

As we grow and apparently evolve, on our path to becoming erudite in a subject of our choice it is important to keep our child like enthusiasm alive. It’s a pity to see so many of us loose and scumb to namesake scholarly wisdom.

Words have power exercise with caution , don’t be a tornado and crumble things that matter. Also as Oscar Wilde say “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken” find your own individuality and for god’s sake be anything but boring !
